DC Autism Parents launches DC Autism Buddies

Feb 06, 2010
On Saturday, February 6th, 2010, DC Autism Parents will launch DC Autism Buddies, a non-profit volunteer-led “Big-Little Buddy” program to provide one-to-one recreational opportunities for children with autism in the DC Metropolitan Area.

The program is open to children living with autism, ages five to thirteen, and is free of charge to families. However, a $20 donation per child would be greatly appreciated to assist in offsetting material costs.

The program will take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, (February to June 2010), for ten sessions from 12:30-2:30pm. The program site location will be disclosed once the child is accepted into the program.

Parental supervision at DC Autism Buddies sessions is not required. However, if you child is not potty-trained and/or not using the bathroom independently, you must stay at the program site to assist with your child’s toileting needs.

If interested, please email dcautismbuddies@dcautismparents.org to obtain a registration packet.
