Overview of Assessment and Interventions to Address Challenging Behaviors

Presented by Ania Young, M.S., BCBA

This workshop will provide information on assessments related to describing and identifying the functions of challenging behaviors with an overview of interventions to address these behaviors. February 27th, 8:30-10 a.m.


Financial Planning for Children with Special Needs

Presented by Desi Wyatt, Financial Advisor and Parent of a Child with Autism and Karen Dunivan, Esquire

This workshop will discuss the topics of protecting the assets of individuals with special needs, providing additional income to facilitate a better quality of life, preventing the loss of government benefits, and balancing the needs of other family members and beneficiaries. March 20th, 8:30-10 a.m.


An Overview of Post-Secondary Planning for Individuals with Special Needs Including Dual Enrollment, Community Inclusion, Career Education, and Transition Planning Presented by Dr. Kregel, VCU School of Education, Department of Special Education and Disability Policy

Dr. Kregel has been on the faculty at VCU since 1983 and is the Associate Director and Research Director of the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Supported Employment. This workshop will provide an overview of post-secondary and transition planning needs for individuals of all ages. April 4th, 9:00-10:30 a.m.


IEP Planning and Development

Presented by Adam Warman, M.S., and Kathy Matthews, Ph.D

We will review how to begin the IEP planning and development process by discussing assessment, goal writing, and data collection. May 15th, 8:30-10 a.m.
