The POAC-NoVA Verbal Behavior Instructors Academy (PVBIA) is pleased to present two bootcamps this Summer to allow for an immediate immersion in ABA/VB. These bootcamps are an abridged series of five PVBIA classes with no clinical oversight or hands-on work.
The classes for the bootcamp are designed for novices to jump in feet first and learn techniques applicable to the real-world in just one week with five night-classes. Of course, there is no substitute for workshops and time so please consider this only "Basic Training".
The first week of bootcamp is geared towards parents and family members of children with autism. The second week is designed for professionals of all types who work with our children.

For Parents / Family Members: July 6th - 10th - NOTE: You must be a POAC-NOVA Member! Please see http://www.poac-nova.org/Join/ to join today!
For Professionals: July 13th - 17th

The mission of the POAC-NoVA Verbal Behavior Instructors Academy (PVBIA) is to increase the local availability of quality Applied Behavioral Analysis using Skinner's Analysis of Verbal Behavior (ABA/VB) instruction by founding a school for ABA/VB therapists/instructors. In addition, the program's goals are to: (1) train new therapists in research-based methodologies; (2) teach parents and therapists best practices in organizing and running home programs; (3) help parents organize structured training programs for their therapists; and (4) serve as a model for other locally-based schools to train therapists in effective, research-based methodologies for teaching developmentally delayed children.

POAC-NoVA is grateful for the support of the community and our volunteers. We would especially like to thank the Fairfax County Public Libraries, the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C., the Fairfax City Parks and Recreation, Safeway, Great American Restaurants and the Fairfax County Park Authority for their support.
